The Dragonfly Cohousing has purchased land in central Calgary with a strong focus on community-building,
inclusiveness and sustainable building options. Well-designed common spaces will complement private
homes (townhouse and apartment style) to create the right balance for a higher-density urban environment.
They have agreed to pursue PassiveHaus standards in their building and emphasize access for all in its
design. Members and committees are meeting twice monthly to move this project forward! Less than 12
units still available.

Belterra is a beautiful property within a 15 minute walk of the village of Snug Cove on Bowen Island
(a 20 minute ferry ride from West Vancouver). The site has sloping open meadows, forested areas,
steeper rocky bluffs with exceptional ocean and mountain views and a year round creek. Our goal is
to create an affordable eco-village while preserving the natural features of the land.

Completed summer 2007, our 2-5 bedroom duplex homes are clustered in three neighbourhoods
radiating from our timber-beamed common house, green-roofed workshop and peripheral parking
area. The land is gently sloped and bright, with developing gardens, orchards, children's play
areas, paths and ponds. These commons are accessible and naturally landscaped for use by our
whole multi-generational community. Creekside Commons has also placed paths through an adjacent
4-acre park with a footbridge across Piercy Creek giving access to downtown. Respect for the
natural environment has been a priority for all development decisions. |

Our mandate is to build an intentional neighbourhood of strata-titled housing for seniors that is
affordable, environmentally friendly, and socially/culturally supportive, allowing people to

Imagine a neighbourhood with a mix of children and elders and everybody in between,
where you can live, work, play, grow all your food, raise kids, and grow old, where so much of
what you need is within walking distance and your own home helps to create a more sustainable
society. What started as a dream is now reality underway as the Nelson Land Group has found a
piece of land to build a custom neighbourhood with an agriculture emphasis. We are now accepting
new members.

The Yarrow Ecovillage is a unique combination of farming, cohousing, and a Granville Island
style commercial development nestled in the Fraser Valley providing the potential to lease
farm land and run your business close to home. Combined with the existing Yarrow services,
the farming and commercial spaces aim to make our cohousing a simple walk-to-everything
experience including schools, library, post office and more. Together we steward 20 acres of
certified organic farm land currently leased by several individual farming families. Both a
family and adult style cohousing project all within a short hour and a half drive inland from
Vancouver. We welcome you to browse our website and we invite your questions. |

Terra Firma is a small cohousing project located in the centre of the city and close to the
Rideau Canal. In 1997 we bought and subsequently renovated two three-door townhouses. We have
since built an infill between the two buildings which houses a seventh residential unit and
our common space, which is used to host a great variety of events and activities, in addition
to dinners. A solar hot water installation provides heat and hot water to the common space and
three units, and hot water to an additional unit. From the common space we have also created
a lovely walkout area that contains a hot tub. Our large common yard has many shared amenities
(play structures, treehouse, gardens, quiet sitting area, bicycle and storage sheds, composting
bins, wood pile). Adjacent neighbours join us twice a week to eat. It's a great place to live!
